How much oxygen will the Inogen G5 deliver?

The Inogen One G5 produces a maximum of 1,260 milliliters (ml) per minute or 1.26 liters per minute (lpm). This portable oxygen concentrator (POC) delivers pulse dose oxygen with settings of 1-6.

Although this POC delivers a maximum of 1,260 ml per minute, the amount given with each breath depends on your flow setting and breathing rate. The Inogen One G5 delivers a specific amount of oxygen per minute. To achieve this number, the oxygen bolus (dose) size adjusts to your breathing rate.

For example, the Inogen One G5 delivers a total of 210 ml of oxygen per minute on a setting of 1. If you’re breathing at a rate of 10 breaths per minute, the machine delivers 21 ml with each breath. However, if you breathe 30 breaths per minute, the machine adjusts the bolus to 7 ml of oxygen per breath.

See the chart below for more examples:

Pulse-Dose Setting Milliliters per minute Bolus size (ml) at 10 breaths per minute Bolus size (ml) at 30 breaths per minute

3 630 63 21
4 840 84 28
