Drive DeVilbiss Compact 5L Home Oxygen Concentrator Description
The 555DS produces oxygen at 0.5 to 5.0 LPM with a purity range of 87–96%, operating at under 46 dBA — quiet enough for use in a bedroom or living area without interfering with sleep or conversation. The redesigned internal architecture reduces the number of connections and clamps, which lowers the potential for mechanical failure over time. A modular layout also makes the unit faster to service when maintenance is needed.
Compact Design
Featuring a modern, streamlined design for convenient use, this 29-pound unit will save space in your home and can be stored easily. The user controls are featured on an easy-to-access panel, helping users to recognize the concentrator’s functions and operate it confidently. Plus, this home oxygen concentrator operates quietly, operating at under 46 decibels of sound while it’s in use.
Durability
The 555DS is built around a redesigned internal architecture that reduces the number of connections and clamps compared to its predecessor, and fewer mechanical joints means fewer potential points of failure over time. A modular internal layout makes components easier to access when servicing is needed, which helps providers resolve issues faster and keeps the unit in use longer.
Power consumption is 17% lower than the previous model. Lower power draw means the unit runs at a reduced internal temperature, which in turn extends the life of internal components. The expected service life of the 555DS is five years, based on normal use and manufacturer-recommended maintenance.
Safety
The 555DS includes the DeVilbiss OSD (Oxygen Sensing Device), a built-in monitor that continuously tracks the oxygen concentration the unit is producing. The LCD display confirms normal output with a green indicator; if oxygen purity drops below an acceptable level, a yellow alert appears alongside an audible alarm. If purity falls further or the unit detects a malfunction such as high internal temperature or a flow error, a red service-required indicator activates with an intermittent alarm, prompting the user to contact their equipment provider.
All alert indicators are displayed on the digital LCD panel, giving users a clear, at-a-glance picture of unit status during use.
