Allergy and Asthma Network

Overview:

Allergy and Asthma Network The Allergy and Asthma Network was founded in 1985 to advocate, educate, and research asthma, allergies, and related conditions. When the Network was created, very little patient-facing information on asthma and allergies was available. The members of the Network created educational materials for families and lobbied for government decision makers to prioritize these patients’ needs and priorities.

Now, the Network’s website contains robust resources on asthma and allergies. Using easy-to-understand language in videos, articles, and guides, the organization helps all individuals recognize the signs of an allergy or asthma flare up and provides information on how to manage these conditions.

As the leading nonprofit patient education and advocacy group for individuals with allergies and asthma, the Network unites patients, families, healthcare professionals, and government decision makers. Together, members of the Allergy & Asthma Network work together to better understand these conditions and improve the quality of life for Americans with these illnesses. Through the years, the Allergy & Asthma Network has made its mark on policies surrounding asthma and allergies. Among other accomplishments, the organization helped make home peak flow meters affordable, pass self-carry medication policies at schools, and create individualized Asthma Action Plans.
