Branson is a great family destination for people with different tastes and styles, with a bit of a wild west twist. This town is located south of Springfield Missouri, close to the Arkansas border. It’s location makes it more interesting because it’s also not far from Kansas and Oklahoma.

Branson can be a very exciting place, and you have a wonderful guide to the place, who knows it very well. Ken is a happy user of a portable oxygen concentrator to help treat his emphysema, and he has lived in Branson for most of his life.

“I actually remember the day my family moved here very well. We came from Mississippi when I was 9 years old, and at first I was scared. It didn’t take me long to fit in, though! Of course now that I’m pushing 70, you better believe I know every nook and cranny, every parking space, and every hang-out, and when those hang-outs had other names in the past.

I was diagnosed with a later stage of emphysema 5 years ago, and I need to use oxygen every day with my trusty Lifechoice ActivOx Pro 4L. At first I tried using the liquid oxygen tanks and got tired of them. I just put it over my shoulder and go on about my business, meeting up with my friends about town. I like to stay social and active around town.”

To make sure he keeps his battery topped up when he’s staying active, Ken is sure to carry the ActivOx external battery, which gives him another 2 hours of freedom on top of the 5 hours he already gets from the internal battery.

“If you want a good family restaurant, my favorite is McFarlain’s. The food is as good as mom’s home cooking, and the place is just a lot of fun for everybody. Perfect if you want some good old comfort food. For a good bar for some fun later in the night and a few drinks with old friends, I head to Waxy O’Shea’s.

I don’t mind carrying my ActivOx with me because it’s so light and small. The carry bag also makes it really comfortable to carry. It’s also quiet, so I can take it to watch shows at the Clay Cooper Theatre. Great live music, and the little puff noises that my concentrator makes doesn’t bother anyone. You can’t come to Branson without enjoying some great live music at the different theatres we have around town.

If you want to go fishing, hiking or just spend some quality time out in nature, Table Rock Lake is my favorite place to go. I go fishing and I get to stay as long as I like, with the great battery duration my concentrator gives me. This lake is huge, and if you have a boat, bring one. Bring the kids to go swimming! It’s also never too crowded and it stays clean.”

After Ken’s great suggestions for things to do in Branson while using your portable oxygen concentrator, we’re sure you’re at least curious about the place!

  1. Is there a Lincare in Branson that does liquid oxygen fills. We have a 40 lb tank we use for fills. My husband is on 4 L . We would be driving from Fargo this summer.

    • There are several Lincare locations in Branson MO. I would contact the one that you have been getting your oxygen from currently and work with them.
