The Equinox is one of the newest and most exciting portable oxygen concentrators to be released by Sequal, the same brand that created the wonderful Eclipse series. Who knew they could improve on something like the Eclipse? The Equinox has the same wide range of oxygen settings as the Eclipse, with more features you’ve never seen before, and at just 14 lbs!

Your Equinox will keep working at peak performance and continue delivering the same high purity of oxygen, but you will need to do a few things periodically to keep it running smoothly. The Equinox is a robust machine, but just like with any other oxygen concentrator, or any other high tech electronic machine, it needs to be serviced and maintained.

You’ll be able to find instructions for taking care of your Equinox in the owner’s manual when you purchase it, but if you were wondering, here are the few and basic things you would need to do to take care of your SeQual Equinox.

Routine Maintenance

Once a year, you will need to send us your Equinox for a routine check-up. The internal components need to be checked to make sure they are working fine. Preventative maintenance is very important, because you don’t want it to break while you are using it, or when you are on vacation, or some other very inopportune moment. You can schedule these routine maintenance and the alarms, internal filters, internal 9 volt battery and other internal parts can be checked and cleaned or replaced if necessary.

Cleaning and Replacing the Inlet Filter

The Sequal Equinox has an inlet filter, or a gross particle filter, which you will need to remove and clean once a week. This filter is the first filter ambient air passes through to be purified. It removes all the larger particles, such as pollen, mold spores, dust and other air pollutants. It’s important to clean this filter often, because it quickly gets clogged up with impurities from the air around you. If it gets clogged up, it won’t be able to bring in the oxygen you need.

Unplug the Equinox from its power source, or turn it off, and pull out the air inlet filter, which is located at the top center of the machine, right behind the handle. Clean it with mild detergent and clean water, and allow it to dry completely before putting it back into the machine. It’s a good idea to have another spare filter on hand, to put into the machine and use while the other is getting cleaned. The air inlet filter should be completely replaced once a year.

Cleaning the Exterior

To keep the cabinet, or the outside of the Equinox clean, use a damp cloth with a small amount of mild detergent to wipe away spots, dirt and dust. Wipe over it with a cloth damp with just some water, and then dry it off with a dry lint free cloth. Wipe over the vents with a dry lint free cloth to clear away any build up of dust.

  1. I have a sequal Equinox machine that has not been used in 3 or 4 years. The batteries are all dead. I need to have it serviced so that it can be used. Can you all help me with this?

    • Thank you for your comment, Joshua. We currently have two retail locations, one in Denver, CO and the other in Chicago, IL. It it important to note, however, that we no longer preform repairs in-house but may be able to assist you in sending it to the manufacturer. Give us a call at 877-303-9289 if you’d like more information.

  2. The Sequal Equinox works great, but the wheels are worn. How do I get replacements. No need to ship the unit to a repair center. I can use a wrench and the wheels do not impact function.
    Tom

    • Hi Tom, Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately just replacement wheels are not available. You can purchase a new cart. Please feel free to reach out to us at 888-360-9628.

  3. I have a Sequel 3 and the alarm sounds and yellow light comes on. I changed filters external and internal. I would like to get it fixed. Can you help me. Thanks!

    • Thank you for your inquiry, Tom. I have passed along your information to a specialist who will reach out regarding your request. For more immediate assistance feel free to give our specialists a call at 888-360-9628 or if you prefer email sales@amsrco.com

    • Warranty repairs must be facilitated by the dealer that provided the unit. If we provided your Equinox, we will absolutely facilitate any repairs needed. Otherwise, we suggest you contact the dealer that provided the unit. Please call us at: 1-877-644-4581 if you have further questions.

  4. I have a 3 year old Eclipse 5 by Sequal and the yellow light is on. It does not blink. The book said to take the power pack out and then put back in to see if that would do it. I have even exchanged power packs (I have 2), but the yellow light stays on. Do you repair these? if so, what is the average price estimate? do you pay for shipping or would I?

    • Hi Marguerite, we do not service Eclipse 5 in-house. Please contact your equipment provider (where you purchased the concentrator from) or the manufacturer to get your unit serviced.

  5. We bought a Simplygo 10 years ago, and it has been a godsend. Lately we have been using it 24/7 due to our stationary unit out for servicing. It well work well when plugged in, but then starts beeping. It acts like its still giving oxygen, but is not charging the battery in it. In fact, the battery may be completely dead.Turning it off and then on, with a new battery ad it performs normally, for 2 to 6 hours, then starts beeping again. Given this limited information, can you tell what repairs it may need?

    • Thanks for your comment, Keith. We’d require more information in order to help troubleshoot the issue. SimplyGo displays the error/error code on the screen which is super helpful in troubleshooting. If you see any unusual icon or letters on the screen that would help narrow down the problem.
If you are using SimplyGo on pulse dose mode, ensure that the cannula is properly positioned on your face. If the cannula is not correctly positioned, the unit cannot detect breath and will give “NB” No Breath Alarm. Since you used a stationary unit, it might be best to use Simply Go on continuous flow. Another thing that can trigger the alarm is a kinked cannula and the unit cannot supply oxygen. The unit will display “NF” on the screen for “No Flow”.
These suggestions are per the limited information we have. For better troubleshooting please call your equipment provider.
