Servicing and Maintenance for the Respironics SimplyGo

The Respironics SimplyGo mobile concentrator is one of the small wonders of the portable oxygen concentrators. It weighs only 10 lbs and can deliver both pulse dose oxygen, which is the usual for all portable oxygen concentrators, as well as continuous flow. Most of the time, the continuous flow models are bigger and heavier. The SimplyGo can put between 0.5 to 2 LPM (liters per minute) of continuous flow in 0.5 increments, as well as 72 ml/min of pulse dose oxygen.

This small and powerful portable oxygen concentrator is like all others, as far as needing to be serviced and maintenance from time to time. Anything that has that much sophisticated technology, and is important to your health should get the maintenance attention that it needs to continue working at its peak performance.

If you purchase the SimplyGo, you'll get the user manual with instructions on how to care for your concentrator, and you can get advice from us at American Medical, as well. We'll explain it here, in case you weren't sure about the maintenance before making your purchase.

Cleaning Your SimplyGo

Always turn off the SimplyGo and unplug it from a power source before cleaning. To clean the battery bay, remove the battery and wipe away any dust with a dry lint free cloth. You don't want the battery terminal or the battery bay to come in contact with any dampness, or anything metal, both of which can cause damage.

Get a soft cloth damp with a mild detergent and wipe the outside of the cabinet to remove any spots, dust or dirt that has collected on the surface. Wipe it over with a clean damp cloth, and wipe it dry with a dry lint free cloth.

Replacing the Filter

Unlike many other concentrators on the market, the SimplyGo does not have any filters that need to be changed or cleaned on a regular basis. If your SimplyGo is having trouble operating, please contact the dealer you purchased your SimplyGo from to find out if the device is in need of repair.

Replacing the Battery

When your SimplyGo needs to be worked on, we can make sure your unit is repaired in a safe, and efficient fashion. We will ensure that all manufacturer’s processes are followed to have the machine properly fixed. We will have the unit returned to you as quickly as possible so you can stay on the go!

When your SimplyGo needs to be worked on, we can do the service ourselves and save you money, instead of sending it back to the manufacturer. We can service it quickly and send it back to you quickly.

My Simply Go sounds like it's struggling to provide continuous flow above 1 liter. It will stop working and I am seeing an alert symbol I cannot find in the manual. It is a triangle with a curved arrow on the right side of the triangle, heading downward. Can you help me figure this out? Thanks so much.

I vacuum the air intake of my simply go frequently because I have animals and live in a very dusty area, however, the alarm stopped beeping, and it is not acting correctly. I am traveling for the holidays and was told that there were a few filters that probably needed changing, but I read above that there aren't any filters. Any suggestions?

I purchased a Simply Go about 4 - 5 years ago. In the last year the machine has gotten extremely noisy. It works but the noise...... I use this machine for traveling only as I have a full size concentrater at home. I only use oxygen at night. I sleep with ear plugs and can still hear the loudness of the machine. Can I do something or does it need to be returned for repair. I live in Washington State.

I purchased my SimplyGo a year ago through amazon (vendor no longer on there) and I live just outside of Guadalajara, Mexico. The Low Oxygen Concentration Alarm on my SimplyGo has begun ocurring every hour or two. Where in Mexico can I send my SimplyGo for servicing? Thank you.

Thank you for your comment, Cleveland. This, unfortunately, is one of the dangers of purchasing from a non-authorized dealer. Depending on what you purchased, there is a chance that the unit has a remaining warranty allowing you to send it to the manufacturer for service. However, that being said, it is rare for machines purchased from non-authorized dealers, who do not require a prescription, to sell units that have manufacturer warranties. We suggest contacting the manufacturer directly regarding your inquiry.
