Respironics SimplyGo Mini portable concentrator is now FAA approved for all commercial flights to and from the United States! Weighing in at a mere 5 pounds, Respironics has ensured a convenient, safe, and easy way to travel with your oxygen solution.

It’s important that you are able to use your portable oxygen machine wherever you go and though a POC is already FAA approved many airlines have additional requirements you will need to meet before your flight. We suggest preparing to fly with your oxygen concentrator 2 weeks before your travel date, this should give you plenty of time to research or call your airline and acquire any required documentation.

Regulations differ from airline to airline and requirements range from a doctor’s note, 48 hours advanced notice, a copy of your prescription, to a physician’s statement confirming your ability to travel. That is why it’s extremely important to carefully read the requirements on the airlines website, or speak to a customer service representative when preparing for your flight to avoid any delay in travel plans.

One of the great things about a FAA approved portable oxygen concentrator, as well as their accessories, is that it won’t be counted as part of your carry on limit. Following a few simple guidelines will make sure you can go wherever you need to go, whenever you need to go, while getting the oxygen therapy you need.

Give us a call today for more information on the SimplyGo Mini or any of our other FAA approved portable oxygen solutions.

See the list of airlines below to view individual portable oxygen concentrator rules and regulations.

Don’t see your airline? Call the airline directly and a customer service representative will be happy to work with you.

  1. Simply go mini,
Needs some sort of label on it with model no serial no and a FAA sticker
I bought this machine and live in the far east I’m having trouble flying with Asian airlines as Simply Go mini is not on there list as FAA accepted,
    Very frustrating.

    • Thank you for your comment, Stewart. The SimplyGo Mini has been FAA approved for air travel. See our blog post regarding the official July 2016 FAA launch here: Respironics SimplyGo Mini Now FAA Approved. Depending on when you purchased your SimplyGo Mini there should be an FAA Approved icon on the back label of the unit itself. It will be a small circle with the outline of a black plane. Additionally, it is important to note that we do not provide FAA stickers and just because a unit has been approved by the FAA does not mean it has been approved by the individual airlines. Unfortunately, each airline is allowed to make their own oxygen concentrator guidelines.

  2. My mother just left on a trip with American Airlines and they refused it. We had to order a large unit for flight.
Is there any documentation to show AA?

    • Thank you for your comment, Angela. As we specified, each airline has their own rules and regulations regarding what they will allow on the aircraft. You should always remember to call and speak to the airline directly well before your trip regarding any medical equipment you will be trying to bring and/or use onboard, and the SimplyGo Mini by Respironics is FAA approved.

  3. My mother was just denied use of her SimplyGo mini on UA5546 from Fresno to Denver. The flight attendant cited the absence of an “FAA sticker.”
Yes, I know the SimplyGo mini is approved. I can see that from your previous responses.
Yes, I know to call the airline. She did. The disability desk said it was approved.
Yes, I read the airline’s rules and regulations.
The machine was used on her outbound flight four days beforehand. It also passed inspection at the United check-in desk and at TSA.
So for others reading this. I don’t know where you get the special sticker or who exactly is responsible for affixing it (the Federal rule refers to a “manufacturer label,” which indicates to me that the responsibility lies there), but make sure that machine has the official label.

    • Thank you for your comment, Aida. I have passed along your information to one of our Oxygen Specialists who will reach out shortly regarding your request.

  4. I’m confused with your comments regarding airline use of the Respironics SimplyGo Mini. United airlines is listed on this page of your website. But I did not find it on the actual United Airlines listing. On their website it states that a tag with FAA approal is OK with United if it is not listed with their site. What tag are they referring to?

    • The sticker that the airlines are referring to is located on the back of the unit. You will see a very small airplane and that is what indicates that it is FAA approved. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach out to us at 888-360-9628.
