If you’ve been wanting to visit the Alamo City and get a good taste of the American Southwest, you can easily go and have a great time on your trip with one of our portable oxygen concentrator rentals. Be sure to get your rental a few days ahead of time, and allow for up to 3 days for us to ship the unit to your door.

If you are flying into the city, make sure you contact your airline a week or so in advance, to let them know you will be bringing a portable oxygen concentrator with you. They will let you know of any requirements they might have, such as a note from your doctor, and at least 1 extra battery with a 100% charge.

San Antonio is an interesting city, and because of its location in the hot and arid Southwest, you will most likely want to plan your trip during the winter, late fall or early spring. Average temperatures in the summer are well above 90 degrees, which is known to exacerbate COPD symptoms in many people with the chronic lung disease. These extreme temperatures can be hard on anyone, so going to San Antonio during the cooler months when the temperatures range from 60 to 80 degrees on average, will make the trip much more comfortable and enjoyable.

This city is part of the Texas triangle, which includes the cities of Dallas, Austin and Houston, with San Antonio as the Southwestern-most point of this huge triangle of urban development and major highways. It might be a good idea to travel this triangle, so you can visit all the major cities of Texas within one big trip!

If you’re looking to please a family group with people from young to old, Sea World and Six Flags Fiesta Texas are two major places to visit for everyone to have a good time. Check out the San Antonio Zoo and Aquarium during the day, and the famous Majestic Theatre at night for a memorable show and old theater atmosphere. Of course, no trip to San Antonio would be complete without a trip to the famous Alamo Mission, which was the site of the Battle of the Alamo in 1836. Everyone knows this because of the famous phrase: “Remember the Alamo”. Just be sure to charge your concentrator fully and have a backup battery on your tours.

For a night out that you’ll never forget, take a stroll down the beautiful “River Walk” at night, which is lined with plant life and the lights of the city and nearby shops and restaurants. If you’re in the mood for a good old fashioned drink, food and live music, head on over to “Howl at the Moon Saloon”, or Menger Bar, downtown.

The crowds can get a little wild at night and these places can get packed, but don’t let that discourage you if you are bringing along your portable oxygen concentrator. The easy-to-maneuver carts or carry bags make it easy for you to move through the crowds.
