Newsweek, along with data firm Statista, and other online databases and price comparison websites, created a list of more than 9,500 online retailers in the United States to identify the most relevant online websites. After passing the initial screening websites were then graded on 41 objective criteria from Statista professional analysts and 7 subjective criteria from a survey of more than 8,000 online shoppers. The list was then narrowed down and ranked the top 1,000 shops across eight industries and 39 categories.
Websites were rated on the following criteria:
- Website structure and usability
- Trust and security
- Service and communication
- Payment
- Purchase and delivery
- Technical performance
A score for each dimension was then calculated, and based on those results, a 1 to 10 score was given to online store. OxygenConcentratorStore.com garnered a score of 7.54, the highest score for an Oxygen Therapy supplier.
