When most people think of New York, their minds immediately go to the city that bears the name rather than the state in which it’s located. And while the city and its five boroughs are home to the nation’s financial sector, myriad national landmarks from the Statue of Liberty to the Brooklyn Bridge, cultural sites like Broadway and Times Square and roughly 8.3 million people, it is not the only attraction in the state of New York.

For example, your travel plans may take you to another city like Albany (the much-overlooked capital), Rochester or Buffalo, or out into nature at Niagara Falls or up into the Adirondacks. Whether your destination is the great outdoors, the “greatest city on Earth” or a different one, choosing the right portable oxygen concentrator for your trip is paramount.

Maybe one of your days will include a trip through New York City’s famous Smithsonian Museum complex. You will probably want a dependable concentrator with a long battery life that is easy to transport, yet versatile enough to meet your needs. If this sounds like the type of unit you need, you might investigate the Respironics SimplyGo.

The SimplyGo functions in both pulse and continuous dose, and gets an astonishing 7 hours of battery life on a pulse setting of 2. Combined with a Respironics brand mobile cart (equipped with six inch wheels for superior handling), you will be able to conquer the American History Museum—and the Natural History, American Art, Air and Space and Hirshorn museums—all on a single charge.

If Broadway musicals are more your style, you should look into the lightest and quietest portable oxygen concentrator on the market to preserve the ambience: the Airsep Freestyle! At just 5 pounds and operating as quietly as 38 decibels, no one will be distracted by your concentrator as they take in the show—including you!

The Freestyle is also a perfect candidate to take with you on a nature hike or trip to Niagara Falls. Coupled with Airsep’s Airbelt accessory, the Freestyle can achieve a total of 8.5 hours of battery life on a setting of 2.

New York—both the city and the state—are popular destinations for a reason. Whether you are in search of nature, a once in a lifetime cultural experience or both, don’t let your oxygen needs hold you back. Give us a call for rental or purchasing information today!

    • It can depend on which machine you are needing. But for reference the portable machines run about $360 a week with shipping. If she needs it at night, there are a couple of options related to stationary machines. One thing that can be done is we can ship directly to the hotel or place she is staying so it will be there when she arrives. Give our rental team a call at 888-360-4493 and they can walk you through the options and pricing.
