Planning a trip to the Big Apple can be both exciting and a little scary, but you shouldn’t have to worry about how you’ll get the oxygen therapy you need. No matter where you are in the country, our portable oxygen rentals are available to you, and you can receive the right concentrator for you in just a few days.

With everything there is to see in this city, you need to be able to travel light, and not have to fuss over your oxygen concentrator. Central Park is huge, and you may want to see every inch of it. Just make sure your battery is all juiced up, with another battery charged and ready for you back at your hotel room. Getting an oxygen concentrator with an external battery pack, that you can hook up when your internal battery is drained, might be a better option. If you are looking forward to biking around Central Park, the Lifechoice is super light at barely 5 lbs, and has a battery life of up to 5 hours with the battery belt. You may even forget that it’s there!

If you’re into art and culture, New York City has it in spades. Find your way over to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Museum of Modern Art in midtown to view some of the best pieces of art, as well as special exhibitions that are only around for a limited time. Check their events schedules to see if there is anything specific going on that you wouldn’t want to miss.

With traffic backups and possible delays in travel, it’s even more important to bring an extra concentrator battery along with you. You might not plan on being unable to catch a cab right away, or getting stuck in traffic, but these things happen in this town. It’s still worth it to be able to get the experiences of seeing a Broadway show, or climbing the stairs to the crown of the Statue of Liberty.

Give yourself plenty of wiggle room in your destination schedule between sites, both for possible delays and just for being able to experience the little details of this city with a lot of character. They say the best thing about a city is its people, so be sure to stop and chat with some of the locals.

A couple of the best places to mingle in this area are Greenwich Village and SoHo, both of which are bustling with culture and interesting places. Greenwich Village is great for nightlife, and SoHo is full of art and places to shop. Check out Minetta Tavern, which was once a favorite hangout of Ernest Hemingway and E.E. Cummings, or a fun diner called The Spotted Pig. SoHo boasts places like Cafe Falai and Mooncake Foods, both of which have been listed as some of the best in the neighborhood.

If you’ve never used a portable oxygen concentrator before, you might be worried about your machine being in the way while you’re strolling about town, and making your way through the crowds. The carts that come with some of the oxygen rentals are small and easy to maneuver, so you should have no trouble getting around. The smallest portables are easily stashed in their carry bags and toted around at your side, or on your back, just like any other bag. These make it easy for you to just focus on having fun during your stay in the city that never sleeps.
