    • This can happen by moisture or dirt getting in there somehow. As long as you can read the screen and your oxygen saturation levels are good, you should be ok. If you are concerned about it, however, you can contact the place where you purchased the machine, and they may request that you send the unit in to have it looked over.

  1. Curious if you can sanitize an inogen. Inside the unit for use with another person.

I’d like to know if there is a way to clean and sanitise the inside workings or if it is necessary.

    • We do not recommend disassembling the unit. However, you can do the following for new patient:
      • Replace the nasal cannula tubing
      • Clean the outer case with a mild detergent
      • Remove and rinse the input vent filters
      • Clean the output vents
      • Replace the columns
      • Replace the output filter which is located behind the nasal cannula by using the Output Filter Replacement Kit

      • I bought a g4 with a lifetime warranty. I have called fir almost two weeks only getting recording. It does no good to leave a message because they never return your call. It shut down completely yesterday and now im without oxygen. I think the service is crappy. Hope you get this before i die. I am so very displeased.

        • We are sorry you are having issues with your machine. Did you buy your machine from us? American Medical- The Oxygen Concentrator Store?
If you didn’t buy from us, please contact your equipment provider for customer support.

    • Do the following to troubleshoot:
      •Remove the AC power
      •Remove the Battery
•Let the unit sit for 5 minutes
•Turn on the unit only on AC power without battery
If the error repeats, then call your equipment provider.

        • The system temperature is too hot and the unit needs to cool down. Turn off the concentrator, take it out of the bag, and allow it to cool for 15 minutes. Check whether the air inlet and outlet vents are obstructed.

  2. My Concentrator works shortly then beeps three times and won’t stop. I have to turn it off and then wait…..turn back on for about 3-5 mins and it begins beeping again. This has gone on since I owed it. I rarely have used it because of this. Where do I send it for repair?

    • Hi Velma, a triple beep and a flashing yellow light on Inogen G4 is a medium priority error. It could mean one of the four things – oxygen purity has degraded, cannula is not properly positioned on the patient’s face, battery is hot or the concentrator cannot deliver oxygen in proper pulses. Please contact your equipment provider or Inogen to replace the machine or repair it.

        • Check with medical equipment rental companies in your area. They may offer inspection and maintenance services for various medical devices, including oxygen concentrators.

      • My inogen port is not working properly. I can get it to charge for a minute only after I jiggle the cord around. I know it’s the port. Can you help me?

  3. I used my G4 this week after not using it for several months. It worked, but occasionally I would get a beep and the message “service soon” or something like that. I looked in the manual and it says this message is not a high priority item. I will be sure there is no dust, etc., but meanwhile, is there a way to turn that message off or will I keep getting it?

    • Hi Jean,
Sieve beds, the columns with filter the oxygen, harden when the device is not used for a long time. They will need to be changed if they have hardened and oxygen supply is impeded. It’s a good idea to use oxygen concentrator for at least 10 hours every month to prevent this situation.
It’s a low priority alarm because you can continue to use the unit but remember to change the columns within 30 days.

  4. My Inogen One works for awhile and then it says low oxygen or occasionally it will say “system error” although that has only happened a couple times. When “low oxygen” or “system error” shows up I turn the unit off and wait a minute and then turn it on and it will work for 15-20 minutes or for a few hours. I have just recently replaced the columns.

    • Will it hurt inogen one g4 if you sleep using it?…like a night on vacation. Instead of dragging the big home unit. My copd is a very mile case…

      • Hello Robert, Inogen G4 can be used 24/7. Since Inogen uses breath detection to deliver oxygen at the right time, it’s recommended you breathe through the nose while sleeping. If a breath is not detected, the machine will still continue to work on auto-delivery.

    • Please contact your equipment provider (where you purchased the concentrator from) or the manufacturer to get your unit serviced. There might be an issue with the battery or the battery connector on the unit.

    • ‘Replace Columns’ error means it’s to replace the columns (also called sieve beds). Whereas, ‘Low Oxygen’ error means there is an internal failure and the unit needs to be repaired if the error persists for couple of days.
It could also be a false alarm. Please to a hard reset to rule out that possibility.
We’d suggest performing a hard reset as follows:
      • The turn off the machine and disconnect the power adapter
      • Remove the unit from the case
      • Remove the batteries
      • Let the unit stand for 20 minutes without power
      • Plug the AC power into the machine – do not attach the batteries yet
      • Turn the unit on and use it for 10 minutes on AC power
      • The turn off the machine and disconnect the power adapter
      • Put the batteries back in and turn on the unit
      • Use the unit as normal

If the error persists, contact your equipment provider for repairs.

  5. Unit powers on and it takes several minutes to produce oxygen. When it does it’s intermittent or not at all. No error messages or beeps.

    • Please contact your equipment provider (where you purchased the concentrator from) or the manufacturer to get your unit serviced.

  6. My Inogen G4 has showed low oxygen a few times and shown please wait for a long time one or two times before. Now it is showing please wait continuously.

    • Please contact your equipment provider (where you purchased the concentrator from) or the manufacturer to get your unit serviced.

  7. My Inogen One G4 accidentally fell off the table and now makes a humming sound. It still works properly just now it is noisy. Can this be repaired? Is there a service center in the New Orleans area that I can take it?

    • Hello Karen, it sounds repairable. Please contact your equipment provider (where you purchased the concentrator from) or the manufacturer to get your unit serviced.

  8. When I see the adds it states lifetime warranty. What is covered on that. I bought one from a friend and would like to have it refurbished/readjusted or whatever it needs to be back to its original self. Any recommendations? What does lifetime warranty actually mean?

    • Hello Anna, you would have to check the policy of the vendor on their website or any warranty document they provided in the box.

  9. My brother passed away and I got his Imogen g4. I replaced the colums and and a new filter on the side but it makes a popping noise. Could you tell me what it needs. Thank you

  10. I have an Inogen G4. Bought it new. Several times while still under warranty, it has shown “System Error”. Provider said to do a hard reset. Has worked each time til yesterday. System reset does not work this time. (Not under warranty any more). Called provider. Said would cost $90 shipping, and $60 to diagnose
problem. Hard reset worked every time while under warranty, but since warranty went out in September, hard reset doesn’t work

    • It’s a coincidence that the hard reset is not working since the time warranty expired. Please check with the manufacturer.

    • Please contact your equipment provider (where you purchased the concentrator from) or the manufacturer to get your unit serviced.

    • ‘O2 Delivery Error’ on Inogen One G4 means that the unit is able to recognize the breath but is not able to deliver oxygen. Remove the power and the battery and restart the concentrator. If this doesn’t resolve the error, contact your vendor.

  11. My inogen 4 is showing oxygen low. I did the hard reset and the oxgen low came on again after 10 minutes without
the battery just plugged in. Now what?

  12. I did the hard reset on my inogen 4 because it is reading oxygen low. It came on again after 10 min. on the power cord onlky. Now what?

    • Please contact your equipment provider (where you purchased the concentrator from) or the manufacturer to get your unit serviced.
