The Inogen One G3 portable oxygen concentrator is state of the art in oxygen therapy that combines lightweight portability and long battery life with superior pulse dose oxygen therapy. It is a pulse dose unit that has 1-5 oxygen delivery settings and includes a standard 3-year warranty on the unit. This portable concentrator is meant to increase convenience and independence dramatically and can be charged at home or on the go.

Overivew of the Inogen One G3

Many portable oxygen concentrators have displays that are difficult to read, but the Inogen One G3's display is very clear. The LCD display clearly shows the pulse flow setting in use, the remaining battery life, and the status of the audible alarm feature. A backlit display button makes the Inogen One G3's display easier to read in dark and low light rooms.

Great for travel and errands

I have the inogen g3 and it is the best purchase I have ever made. Started having some error alarms that resulted in the machine needing to go for repair. It has been very difficult to get timely information from Oxygen Store. Every person i talk to gives me a different story. Since its warranteed maintenance, it should be a simple process. So basically the sales staff is great but the repair staff is lousy. Hoping it all works out.

G3 Portability:

Dimensions: 7.25" High x 8.75" Wide x 3 " Deep
Weight Specs: 4.8 pounds with 8 cell battery
Battery Life: Up to 4 hours with the small 8 cell battery
Up to 9.5 hours with 16 large cell battery

The compact and lightweight design of the Inogen One G3 makes it an ideal POC for travel as well as daily trips around town. At just 4.9 pounds with the 8-cell battery attached, the G3 is one of the lightest weight POCs available on the market. The included carry bag makes trips to the grocery store, parks, and restaurants while using supplemental oxygen manageable.

The Inogen One G3 runs on both AC and DC power supplies so that you can charge the unit's battery on the road. The G3 comes with one 8-cell battery capable of running for up to 5 hours on setting 1. Additional batteries are available for purchase including a 16-cell battery with up to 10 hours of battery life between charges. As the Inogen One G3 is operated at higher pulse dose settings, the battery life between charges decreases. The 8-cell battery can be charged both while in use and while not in use and will recharge fully in about 4 hours when not in use.

The Inogen One G3 portable oxygen concentrator runs on the air around it which eliminates the need to worry about heavy oxygen tanks and tank refills. The G3 is a pulse dose ambulatory oxygen concentrator that delivers oxygen with every breath. Pulse dose settings 1 - 5 are available on the G3. When used at setting 5, the G3 can deliver up to 1050 ml of oxygen per minute and puts out oxygen concentrations of 87% - 95.6% at all settings.

The Inogen One G3 is FAA approved for air travel. The unit's long battery life makes the G3 a perfect solution for travel. Using the included 8-cell battery on Setting 1, the 5-hour battery life gives you enough time to travel to the airport, check-in, go through a standard security line, and take a two-hour flight before having to charge the battery or switch to a supplemental battery. When combined with the use of the DC power supply to charge and run the G3 too and from the airport and an additional battery, you could travel across the country without running out of oxygen.

The Inogen G3 System makes traveling by car, train or boat extremely convenient for oxygen users. You should begin planning for a trip with a checklist of items to remember. Here are some helpful and important instructions for traveling with the Inogen One G3.

  • AC power supply and DC power cable
  • Extra Batteries
  • Important phone numbers, such as family members, your physician and home healthcare provider, and healthcare providers in the area you will be traveling if possible
  • Make arrangement for backup oxygen in the event of power outage or unit failure

Easy and efficient

This is perfect for traveling in every way. I used to have an older portable oxygen concentrator that didn't charge up as fast, and was much heavier. I'm glad that I can get the oxygen, 4 LPM pulse dose from a smaller and more efficient concentrator.

  • Highly impressed by the portability of this oxygen concentrator, the battery life is worth admiring too.

I am not impressed! In one week I have, twice had to exchange the Inogen G3 I bought. I now have a third one and will also need to send this one back because even though it doesn't have issue's the first two had, it is not as quiet as Inogen claims - there is no way I could use this unit in a movie theatre or a restaurant.

    • Danielle Jason

We are sorry to hear about your experience, Carolyn. Did you purchase these units from the Inogen manufacturer directly?

I rented a G3 and carried it with me on flights from Reno Nevada to Jacksonville NC and back. First I would like to say that it was not a burden to carry with me at all, second there was no trouble with TSA or the Airlines either. I did use it on the aircraft while cruising at 34 thousand feet a couple of times and it worked really well. My wife and I do a lot of RVing in the high mountains of the Sierra and this is exactly what I need for that. So now I have gone ahead and purchased a new Inogen One G3 and feel happy with my decision. The only drawback would be that if you use settings above 2 it does start to get a little loud and uses batteries a little faster.

I own the iogen g3 it works great but the c as r charger keeps blowing fuses in my car. Any suggestions on what I can do

  • Sandy

My mom uses Inogen One G3. We had to have it switched out before because the battery wasn’t holding a charge. They said we were overcharging it, to unplug it when it was fully charged. Now the second one is only charging to 85%. Don’t know what to do. I asked about getting a second battery, but they said Medicare won’t pay for it, and you have to buy your own. She only goes to beauty shop and church. It lasts barely 2 hours right now.

    • Ed Rodgers

I'm sorry to hear this Samdy. Depending on the sometimes the new machine or battery when switched might not be new but refurbished which might be a reason. I would attempt another call and discuss this with them to see if they will remedy this with a new battery or even service the machine. The last option might require investing in a battery directly where then you have the second battery as the backup.

car caarger pluge in wants over heat and blow fuses

    • Ed Rodgers

Hi Anna, That can be quite an inconvenience. As this is happening, you might want to call Inogen and see if they have any solution to this. As this may not be the charger but the car creating the issue. But start with Inogen and see if they have heard of this issue and can provide some guidance.

  • Paula

I am very disappointed in this machine it has been a issue with the machine ever since I bought it I need something reliable and this is not going to be going to do that. I would appreciate my money back and then I will try to get me something more reliable. Don’t buy anything tell you try it

Inogen is leaving customers stranded, I purchased a Inogen G3 im March 2019. I revived an error message "low Oxygen" on July 25th. I called the company and customer service said the unit needs to be returned and would receive a loaner in 24 to 48 hrs. I called on July 26 for a tracking number and it not available because of inventory being performed by shipping department., I called on Monday July 29th and was told that they are 5 days behind, Its been 6 days without a solution. I asked for management to call me and I have not been contacted,I am very disappointed in this companny!

  • Anthony Hess

Waiting on my third Inogen One g3 in as many weeks. I was so optimistic and happy about getting this concentrator. Haven’t had an opportunity to experience any of the promised benefits from these units. Hate to go back to tanks but looks like I’ll have no choice.

    • Corey Dyben

      Dear Mr. Hess,

Since we did not provide you your G3, we cannot explain why you are having so many issues. But, please call us at: 1-877-644-4581 and we will do our best to help.

There is a discrepancy in the review of the Inogen One G3 POC. In the first paragraph it states: "It is a pulse dose unit that has 1-5 oxygen delivery settings." In the 4th from the bottom paragraph it says: "Pulse dose settings 1 - 4 are available on the G3." Has Inogen released an update model? Thanks!

    • Scott Ridl

You are correct, Inogen's first generation of G3 models only did a pulse setting of 1-4. Any model after 2015 does a pulse setting of 1-5. We will update the website so it is clear, thank you for letting us know!
