The Invacare XP02 is an inconspicuous solution for oxygen therapy patients who want to maintain their active lifestyle with freedom, flexibility, and peace of mind. With the built-in battery, the Invacare XP02 offers up to 3.5 hours of battery life when fully charged and used on Setting 1. Higher settings will reduce the battery life. For example, at setting 5, a fully charged battery can last up to 1 hour. The Invacare XP02 comes with a supplemental battery, giving you double the battery life when fully charged and used with the built-in battery. Each battery recharges in three hours when not in use, but can also be charged while the unit is running (increasing recharge time). Additional supplemental batteries are available for purchase, as well.

The Invacare XP02 comes with an AC power adapter that can be used to charge batteries at home and away with a standard AC power outlet. The Invacare XP02 also comes with a car power adapter, allowing you to use this oxygen concentrator while you drive without depleting battery life and also giving you the ability to recharge the built-in or supplemental battery in the car while you are away from home.

The Invacare XP02 is FAA approved for travel on all US airlines. As a travel oxygen concentrator, the Invacare XP02 can provide up to 5 hours of battery life with the built-in and supplemental batteries. When combined with the included car power adapter to and from the airport, the battery life provides you with enough power for most standard airport check-in and security lines and up to a 4 hour flight. With that freedom, you could travel cross country from Overland to Seattle. The included power adapters allow you to recharge the internal and supplemental batteries during layovers, as well, giving you the freedom to take longer flights.

Controls:

The Invacare XP02 features three large, easy to read button controls for operation of the machine. The large power button is a one touch button that turns the oxygen concentrator on immediately. The Invacare XP02 power button powers has a push and hold to power down feature to ensure that the oxygen concentrator is not accidentally turned off inadvertently. Plus and minus buttons allow you to easily change the level of oxygen production by the machine. The Invacare XP02 also features a battery life indicator button. By pressing the button, the Invacare XP02 will tell you the remaining battery level of the built in or supplemental battery available.

The Invacare XP02’s supplemental battery is easy to install. When looking at the machine on the top where the handle is located, on the right side of the machine you will notice a circular hole. This is where the supplemental battery is placed. The Invacare XPO2 also has an internally installed battery that is not accessible.

Maintenance of the Invacare XP02 is limited to filter cleaning and replacement. The Invacare XPO2 does not have a washable filter, only an internal filter that needs to be replaced. Based off the use on the machine, the internal filter should be replaced every 1-2 years. The Invacare XPO2 has a mesh screen on the front of the unit that you will want to dust. To do this, simply remove the machine from the carry bag. The front of the unit will open up and the filter will be located on the face plate you remove. Perform this step every 1-2 weeks to remove any dust particles that have built up on the unit.

  1. I am waiting for a portable oxygen concentrator that will work for me. I am on 5 liters all the time. Day and night. This one looks like it would be so light to carry. It is getting harder and harder for me to carry all the extra tanks with me to go anywhere. I still drive my own car and try to keep going the best I can.

    • When you say 5 liters, is that on pulse or continuous? I offer machines that are pulse only under the 7 pound range and machines that offer continuous flow are right at 10-18 pounds.

      Please let me know the exact setting such as pulse or continuous so I can recommend the best machine for you.
