An In-Depth Look at Caire SeQual Eclipse 5 Concentrator

The SeQual Eclipse 5 portable oxygen concentrator from CAIRE is designed for 24/7 use inside and outside the home. It is the latest in the Eclipse line, with a few more features than the SeQual Eclipse 3, such as the ability to run on DC power and charge at the same time.

The slim, curved design and easy-to-use mobile cart and handle make it one of the most convenient portable oxygen concentrators on the market.

Eclipse 5 Appearance

The SeQual Eclipse 5 portable oxygen concentrator is robust without being bulky, measuring 19.3 inches tall by 12.3 inches wide and 7.1 inches deep with the single battery. Its dark gray color with subtle branding blends into the background, making it less conspicuous when using the machine out and about. The control panel, located at the top of the unit, is large enough to read at a distance — complete with four large light blue buttons to control the oxygen concentrator — but small enough to stay unobtrusive.

Overview of the SeQual Eclipse 5

The removable mobile cart gives it greater maneuverability, and the telescoping handle on the cart allows for more accessible storage. Because the SeQual Eclipse 5 has impressive power packed in a relatively medium housing, it is an ideal oxygen concentrator for 24/7 use as a stationary and portable unit.

Can't ask for a better unit

It meets my oxygen therapy needs with room to spare. I've gone everywhere with it, and it didn't feel like a burden at all. It works great and charges up really fast, which is what I needed!

Eclipse 5 Portability:

Dimensions: 12.3" Wide x 7.1" Deep x 19.3" High
Weight: 15 pounds without battery, 18.4 pounds with extended battery and mobile cart
Battery Life: 2 hours on continuous flow at 2 LPM or 5.1 hours at a setting of 2 on pulse dose mode

Although the SeQual Eclipse 5 is not the lightest portable oxygen concentrator available — it weighs 15 pounds without the battery and cart, which add an additional 3.4 pounds — its size serves to accommodate the advanced technology and new features of the unit. An additional benefit is that the mobile cart and telescoping handle make it much easier to move around. The wheels of the cart are built to handle rough surfaces and corners. The handle on the cart is sturdy, and it can easily slide into the cart when not being moved around to become more compact.

An In-Depth Look at Caire SeQual Eclipse 5 Concentrator

The SeQual Eclipse 5 is approved by the FAA, meaning that it can safely be taken onto airplanes; the ability to run on DC power and charge at the same time makes it ideal for traveling by car, which makes long road trips possible once again. A single battery will last an average of two hours at a continuous flow of 2 LPM or a little over 5 hours at a pulse dose setting of two. When traveling by plane or unusually long distances, carrying an extra battery is advisable especially if you require continuous flow oxygen.

Because the SeQual Eclipse 5 is easily portable, you’ll be able to continue traveling and going on adventures, even if you’re required to carry oxygen with you. Whether you’re planning on flying to visit family friends, you’re taking a road trip, or you’ll be exploring your state by train, Oxygen Concentrator Store created a traveling with oxygen guide.

Eclipse 5 Controls:

The control panel features just four buttons to operate the machine: an on/off button, which is illuminated in green when the unit is powered on; two buttons to increase or decrease the flow setting; and a delivery mode button to choose continuous flow or pulse dose mode. An alert indicator will flash yellow for a medium priority alert, while a steady yellow light indicates a low priority issue. The alarm indicator will light up in red to alert the user if an issue must be immediately addressed, such as low power or malfunction. The control panel also shows the current flow setting, the battery status and whether the unit is connected to external power.

One of the main features of the SeQual Eclipse 5 is the advanced autoSAT® technology, which detects the user’s breath rate and adjusts the motor speed to deliver the right amount of oxygen with every breath. With a flow rate that can be changed in increments of 0.5 and the ability to customize sensitivity and bolus rise time, the SeQual Eclipse 5 can be tailored to each patient’s specific oxygen needs.

Its great

I can see how this concentrator might be perfect for anyone. Needless to say I'm happy with all the features. I have the humidifier and the extra batteries to go with it, and they make it even better.
