My grandfather uses the Eclipse 5 Condenser on his trips to Florida in the car every winter.
The Condenser works beautifully in the car... until the adapter end of the power cable breaks. Honestly I don't understand why a $195 part like this DC adapter is priced like it is when the small, $0.35 cigarette-plug end can't even stay functional if you accidentally pull it out by the cord instead of the plastic (which has no handles and is very difficult to grasp on its own).
As an electrical engineer, I'm appalled that the design team behind the wonderful device currently keeping my grandfather alive won't address this simple problem and reinforce the cheap, under-soldered adapter for the car. He's already replaced this part twice within the last 3 months, and considering one of the operational requirements is to unplug the adapter every time the car is turned off (or at least having it unplugged before turning the car back on), it is truly ridiculous it hasn't been addressed already.
Please fix this issue. I'm tired of seeing his condition deteriorate during long car rides because the company wants to save money on a single part.
