These units stand out from other POCs on the market because they can also be used as continuous flow oxygen concentrators.

Appearance and Portability

The Phillips Respironics SimplyGo Portable Oxygen Concentrator was designed to look anything but clinical. At less than a foot tall and only 6 inches deep, the SimplyGo is small enough to travel with you as you take trips around town or even across the country. The SimplyGo’s sleek white outer shell is durable and good looking with rounded corners and a sleek control panel. At just six inches deep, the Respironics SimplyGo POC has a small footprint and blends easily into your home’s surroundings. The SimplyGo features a strong, molded plastic handle and also comes with a sturdy shoulder bag to give you options when transporting your POC.

At 19.3″ high, the SeQual Eclipse 3 Portable Oxygen Concentrator is taller than the SimplyGo. The Eclipse is shaped like an oval and is protected by a durable dark gray plastic shell. Like the SimplyGo, the Eclipse’s easy-to-read control panel is located at the top of the unit for easy access. The Eclipse comes with a carry bag and travel cart to make traveling with your POC a breeze.
Both the Respironics SimplyGo and the SeQual Eclipse are FAA approved for use on most US airlines. These portable oxygen concentrators are also approved for use on buses and cruise ships to give you the ultimate flexibility while traveling.

Battery Life

The SimplyGo’s included lithium ion battery offers up to 3.7 hours of battery life in pulse dose oxygen delivery mode. As higher settings are required for oxygen delivery, battery life lessons. The SimplyGo and Eclipse both come with included AC power adapters for charging the units with standard power outlets. Both portable oxygen concentrators also come with DC power adapters which allow you to charge and run the units while on the road.

Oxygen Delivery

The SimplyGo and Eclipse are unique portable oxygen concentrators in that they offer both pulse dose oxygen delivery as well as continuous oxygen flow. This feature makes these two POCs suitable for almost any oxygen dependent patient.

The SimplyGo delivers oxygen concentration of 87% to 96% at all settings. When used in continuous flow mode, the SimplyGo is capable of delivering anywhere from 0.5 to 2 liters of oxygen per minute in 0.5 increments. In pulse dose setting, the SimplyGo is capable of delivering up to 72 mL of oxygen.

The Eclipse puts out oxygen concentrations of 87% to 93% at all settings. In continuous flow mode, the Eclipse can deliver up to 3 liters of oxygen per minute in 0.5 increments. In Pulse Dose setting, the Eclipse delivers up to 192 mL of oxygen.

Controls and Ease of Use

The control panel of the Respironics SimplyGo is located at the top of the unit and features five buttons for operation of the POC. A power button turns the SimplyGo on with one touch and the large “M” button allows you to easily switch between pulse dose oxygen delivery and continuous flow. The Plus/Minus select buttons let you switch between oxygen delivery levels. The control panel also features an alarm silencer button and a sturdy metal cannula connector. An easy-to-read backlit display screen clearly displays remaining battery life and the mode and setting currently in use.

The SeQual Eclipse control panel is also located at the top of the unit and has four buttons for operation of the machine. A large power button turns the unit on and off while a mode selector button switches the unit between pulse dose and continuous flow oxygen delivery modes. Like the SimplyGo, the oxygen delivery levels are controlled by a plus/minus selector. A metal oxygen cannula connector is located in the upper corner of the unit.

Both the SimplyGo and Eclipse 3 come with one rechargeable battery, AC and DC power supplies, carrying bags, mobile carts and cannulas. Replacement filters, extra cannulas and supplemental batteries are available for purchase for both the SimplyGo and Eclipse.
