The Invacare Perfecto 2 Home Oxygen Concentrator is a 5-liter oxygen therapy system for use at home. The release of the Perfecto 2 marks significant advances in home oxygen concentrators as the unit combines a compact and lightweight design with quiet operation and superior oxygen delivery.

At just 49 pounds, the Invacare Perfecto 2 is a lightweight option for a fully functioning home oxygen concentrator. The Invacare Perfecto 2 is housed in a durable hard plastic shell and features a light base color with a stylish dark gray control panel and casters. At just 23 inches tall and 13 inches wide, the Perfecto 2 is an inconspicuous solution for oxygen-dependent patients who need a full-featured oxygen concentrator at home. Invacare developed this home oxygen system to allow for increased mobility throughout the house. The sturdy molded handle at the top of the unit allows easy maneuverability from room to room. For even greater mobility, the Perfecto 2 rolls easily on four dark gray industrial strength casters. The Perfecto 2 operates at less than 43 decibels to allow patients to sleep easily with the oxygen concentrator running in their room.

The Perfecto 2 features an excellent-looking dark gray control panel which puts everything you need to operate the unit at arm’s length. A sturdy oxygen outlet for cannula attachment sits at the top of the control panel next to oxygen purity indicators and alert lights. The optional SensO2 feature on the Perfecto 2 monitors the purity of oxygen generated by the unit and alerts patients via the light panel if oxygen purity falls below factory standards. A sturdy flowmeter with an attached flow control knob is also easily accessible at the top of the control panel.

Built-in safety features, including an elapsed time meter and circuit breaker, round out the control panel on this innovative home oxygen concentrator. The Perfecto 2 turns on with the flip of a power switch located in the lower right-hand corner of the control panel. Once turned on, the panel lights and audible alarm sound on the machine to indicate that the unit is functioning properly.

Oxygen Delivery:

The Perfecto 2 is a unique home oxygen concentrator in that it delivers oxygen via a pressure-based system rather than on a time-based system like most other oxygen concentrators available on the market.

Invacare’s Perfecto 2 can deliver from 0.5 to 5.0 liters per minute, making it a great solution for all types of oxygen therapy patients, including CPAP-dependent patients. At all flow settings, the Perfecto 2 delivers oxygen concentration purity levels of between 87% and 95.6%.

A unique feature of the Perfecto 2 is that it is compatible with homefill tanks. Invacare offers a homefill oxygen system so patients can fill their oxygen tanks at home. The powerful compressor built into the Perfecto 2 allows the unit to work with these Invacare Home Fill oxygen systems. The Perfecto 2 easily connects to the Home Fill system, giving patients the option of oxygen delivered via a tank when preferred.

Starting Cost:

The Invacare Perfecto 2 meets clinical standards for oxygen-dependent patients in a lightweight, quiet, affordable unit. Invacare’s concentrators are designed to minimize needed maintenance. The cabinet filter is easily accessible and should be cleaned approximately once a week, depending on environmental conditions. If the Perfecto 2 is being used in a high dust environment, the cabinet filter may need to be cleaned more frequently than once a week. To clean the cabinet filter, wash it with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly, or use a vacuum cleaner to clean the filter.

The cabinet that houses the filter should also be wiped down with a clean cloth and mild household cleaner when the filter is cleaned. Some available accessories, such as a humidifier attachment, should be cleaned daily. When operated at 3 liters per minute, the Perfecto 2 consumes only 280 watts of power. This makes the Perfecto 2 one of the most energy-efficient home oxygen concentrators available and 25% more energy efficient than the Invacare Platinum XL.

  1. How does this machine create oxygen? Isn’t the machine really compressing air? There isn’t any water input nor electrolysis to separate oxygen from hydrogen. What is the process that separates oxygen from the ambient air and delivers it to the patient?

    • That’s a wonderful question, Jim. If you’ll click here: How Oxygen Concentrators Work
you can read our page on How Oxygen Concentrators Work which even includes a moving graphic of the inner workings of the machine! Let us know if you have any further questions.

    • Thank you for your inquiry, Ari. Yes, this product does work with a humidifier bottle; however, it does not require a brand specific accessory. You can simply purchase a Standard Humidifier Bottle here: Humidifier Bottle or depending on the setting you require, if you are over 6 you will need to purchase a high-flow humidifier bottle that can go up to 15! You can view that here: High Flow Humidifier Botttle. The water would go inside the bottle. Feel free to give us a call at 877-774-9271 if you’d like to place an order or have any further questions.

    • Some of the machines are compatible with a nebulizer and some are not. I would recommend that you contact the manufacture directly to get a more in depth answer.

  2. My Invacare Perfecto2 has a big sticker on it that says “Humidiflow Installed”. The rep said that does away with the need for the humidifier bottle. Is that correct info, and if so, how does it work? If the humidifier is inside, how does it get a water supply?

    • Thank you for your inquiry. I have passed along your information to a specialist who will reach out regarding your request. For more immediate assistance feel free to give our specialists a call at 888-360-9628 or if you prefer email sales@amsrco.com

  3. My father-in-law is currently using one of these. He smokes. Of course he never smokes inside the house and that’s where the machine is located. We are totally safe as far as oxygen and smoking goes… When he gets up and leaves his room, should he leave the oxygen machine on? Or is it best to turn it off? Whether it’s for 5 minutes or 30 minutes. I’ve read many guidelines and material for this machine and cannot find the answer to that particular question. Thanks in advance

  4. Can this machine be run with an inverter connected with an extension cord in the case of a power outage? Any info on this issue is appreciated since we recently lost power for 10 hours.

    • The Invacare Perfecto2 is a home oxygen concentrator that typically requires a direct connection to a power source. It is not recommended to use an inverter and an extension cord during a power outage to operate the concentrator. Oxygen concentrators are sensitive medical devices, and using them with alternative power sources or improper electrical connections may lead to malfunctions or safety hazards.

In case of a power outage, it’s important to have a backup plan to ensure a continuous supply of oxygen. You may consider having a backup oxygen supply such as portable oxygen cylinders or tanks to use during power outages.

  5. This thing is incredibly loud, we had to literally ask for a longer tube and move it to a different room for my mother to be able to sleep, or be able to talk to her. Nobody would be able to sleep next to it.

    • It’s unfortunate to hear about the noise issue with the Invacare PerfectO2 concentrator. Noise levels can vary between different models and brands of oxygen concentrators, and some units may indeed be louder than others. There are quieter and more advanced units in the market now. Our Oxygen Specialist would be happy to help you out with your requirements. Please give us a call at (877) 644-4581.
