SimplyGo Appearance:

The Phillips Respironics SimplyGo portable oxygen machine features an attractive design. The sleek, white outer shell of the machine was designed to keep the SimplyGo from looking clinical. SimplyGo is made of durable plastic and features smooth rounded corners. At just six inches deep, the Respironics SimplyGo POC has a small footprint, allowing it to blend easily into the surroundings of your home or be inconspicuous while you’re away from home.

The matte white plastic casing of the SimplyGo has an easily accessible slot to insert the lithium-ion battery at the back of the unit. The SimplyGo comes with a shoulder bag and is designed for use both in and out of the bag. The custom carrying case fits over the oxygen concentrator allowing easy access to the display and control panel. The SimplyGo also features a sturdy wheeled cart, giving you plenty of options for how you carry your POC.

Really great!

I’ve had my SimplyGo for a few years now and I’ve been very happy with it. The battery duration could be better, because I have to use 1.5 LPM continuous flow. I’d recommend it just for the light weight and easy portability.

For a Portable Oxygen Concentrator that can deliver both pulse dose flow oxygen and continuous flow oxygen, the SimplyGo weighs only 10 pounds with the standard battery. The unique feature of the SimplyGo to deliver continuous flow oxygen makes it one of the only portable oxygen concentrators suitable for nearly all oxygen therapy users, including highly active patients. The unit provides you more freedom to live your life.

The SimplyGo’s included lithium-ion battery offers up to 3 hours and 24 minutes of battery life when fully charged and used on Setting 1 on the Pulse Dose oxygen delivery mode. At 1 LPM Continuous Flow mode, it will give you up to 1 hour 36 minutes of battery life. Additional supplemental batteries are available for purchase and increase your range when on the go. Extra batteries are especially helpful during flights, as it’s recommended to keep battery life of 1.5 times of the flight duration.

The SimplyGo comes with an included AC power adapter for charging the batteries at home or away with a standard AC wall outlet. A DC power adapter is also included with each SimplyGo basic package for use while in the car, RV, or boat without depleting battery life.

Designed with portability in mind, the SimplyGo comes with an attractive carrying case that is designed to protect the SimplyGo. Respironics developed the SimplyGo for on-the-go patients. They kept durability and aesthetics in mind while designing this portable oxygen machine. The carrying case features a comfortable shoulder strap and attaches easily to the included carry cart, giving you options for carrying your unit with you. The carrying bag also features a large accessory pocket with enough room for an extra battery, cannula, and chargers.

The Respironics SimplyGo is now FAA-approved for travel on all US airlines. When used with the included car adapter to and from the airport, the battery life gives you the freedom to check-in, go through security, and take a flight of up to 2 hours. If you need to use a higher setting, plan on a longer flight, or expect delays, we recommend purchasing an extra battery to ensure continuous operation.

SimplyGo Controls

The SimplyGo concentrator features five large, easy-to-read button controls on the top of the machine. The carrying case keeps the controls and the display screen easily accessible if you need to change settings or check battery status. The power on/off button quietly and quickly turns the machine on and off by pressing the button twice. The Alarm Silence button allows you to quickly and discretely manage your oxygen needs. The display is bright and clear making it easy to read. It displays the battery level, settings, and mode and has a pleasant blue glow when you press a button. The light makes it very easy to read in the dark or direct sunlight. The SimplyGo has a large mode select button to change between pulse dose oxygen delivery, continuous flow oxygen delivery, and sleep mode. The simple plus and minus buttons easily turn oxygen flow up or down depending on your needs.

Respironics SimplyGo Controls and Display

The Respironics SimplyGo’s lithiu-ion battery is easy to install. With the battery slot located at the top, back of the machine, the battery can be inserted without removing the machine from the carry case. Additional batteries can be stored in the included accessory case.

Maintenance of the Respironics SimplyGo requires replacing the filter. The SimplyGo does not have a washable filter, only an internal filter. The internal filter should be replaced approximately every 1-2 years, based on your usage and settings.

Great machine!

I have had a Simply go for the past three years and use it every time I leave the house. It rides on the console in the car, on the floor next to me in the RV and on the boat. I plug it into the cigarette lighter to keep the battery charged. Over time I have purchased 3 extra batteries which covers my out door extended activities. Gives the mobility that almost matches what I had before COPD.

  1. I cannot figure out how to change the filter on the Simply go. There isn’t a visible compartment like on other concentrators. Thank you!

    • The filters have to be changed at an authorized repair center, and as a result they do not require regular changing. Please feel free to give our specialists a call at 888-360-9628 or email sales@amsrco.com for more assistance.

  2. If plugged into car and being used constantly while driving ours is beeping low charge. Does it need to be fully charged by direct power before using in vehicle. The icon shows it is being charged in car ( i switched to different car outlets while car on } but all the power is going to concentrate and not build
up reserve. Is this correct. thank you

    • If you are running it in the car with the battery in, the car is not producing enough power to charge the battery and run the unit, so the unit is running on the battery. We would want to verify that the car runs the unit without the batter in the unit – if the unit cannot run without the battery in the car a new DC cord needs to be purchased. If it does run then the DC is fine and the unit is getting enough power to turn on. From there the issue is probably the car does not produce enough power to run the unit and charge the battery – which the battery can be removed and if the unit runs without issue the problem was just not enough power to do both; however in the SimplyGo the unit relies on the battery to act as a resistor so prolonged use without the battery in the unit will eventually damage the electrical components.

  3. my batteries last no more than 40 minutes on 6; does that mean they are not good batteries given the “specs” above, i.e., Setting 6: 1.9 Hours

  4. I purchased a simply go unit to use for the continuous flow. Unit is a problem due to all electrical Is circuited thru the battery regardless of whether 110 ac power is supplying the unit. Therefore, when the battery is low the unit will shut down to recharge the battery. This is a design defect in my opinion. Should be able to run the unit on 110 while the battery charges.

Would like to hear your comments.

    • That’s correct the battery needs to inserted in order to operate the unit. However, you should be able to use your SimplyGo while it’s charging on AC power.

      • Battery is inserted and battery is low; unit will not run until the battery is charged. Equipment will cycle off due to design if battery is low. Please test out. This is an expensive piece of equipment that will not work when the battery is low and unit is powered by 110. Makes no sense.

    • Our Oxygen Specialists would be happy to understand your requirements and advise the way forward. Please give us a call at (877) 644-4581.

  5. I cannot recommend the Simply Go due to repair issues I have experienced. My machine is 2-1/2 years old. After about a year it had to be sent away for repairs and was gone for about 6 weeks. Then last fall it malfunctioned – beeping all the time – and the manual indicated it needed repair again. When I contacted the company I purchased it from (Vital Aire) they indicated that they were not sending them off for repair as parts were unavailable due to supply chain issues. It has now been around 3 months that the machine needs repair and they still tell me there has been no word on when they can be repaired. In the meantime I hav had to rent alternate equipment in order to travel.

  6. In Queensland Australia. My husband has the Simply Go purchased in March 2020. It is as a back up as he has a large oxygen concentrator during the night time so Simply Go was purchased only for travelling and so far have taken it away on holiday 3 times for no more than a week. It has been used on power all of the time except for once in the car on DC for about 2 hours and this year has been used once on the battery for an hour or a little more. The book says it must have the battery inserted always. Had a problem with it in October 2021 and was told it would need a new battery. I purchased the battery (AU $350) but the machine kept beeping even on the new battery. I had charged it fully before switching it on as in the inst. book. I returned the machine to the place of purchase and it went away for some weeks and repair work done under warranty (replace filter, seive and compressor). When we had it returned i found it worked perfectly with the original battery so stored the new battery which was fully charged.
About 3 weeks ago the old battery would not re charge so i have used the new battery which was fully charged and in past 2 days it has started beeping and not holding the charge for long and just cutting out.. Contacted the company where we purchased it today and was told to put it on night time mode and run it and that i could run it on AC power without the battery installed. Now i am really confused as I didn’t think this was possible. Please give me some guidance here. How long should a new battery last if it is being automatically recharged constantly while on AC power? How long does warranty last on compressor?

    • Hello Heather, thank you for your comment.
Technically SimplyGo can be operated without the battery installed. However, it is recommended not to do so by the manufacturer as the unit will stop producing oxygen and will not alarm in case of a power outage.
SimplyGo unit and accessories come with a warranty. Please check it with your vendor or on the copy of the invoice.

    • The battery can last up to 3 hours and 24 minutes on Setting 1 on the Pulse Dose oxygen delivery mode. At 1 LPM Continuous Flow mode, it will give you up to 1 hour 36 minutes of battery life.

    • Please contact your equipment provider (where you purchased the concentrator from) or the manufacturer to get your unit serviced.
